Our Story

STAFF EXPERTISE

Air-Tech Environmental personnel possess a range of experience unequaled in a company of its size.  The staff has extensive expertise in:

  • emission characterizations;

  • compliance testing;

  • diagnostic testing;

  • relative accuracy test audits (RATA);

  • guarantee testing;
  • methods validation;
  • source assessments in support of setting standards;
  • MACT compliance.

CREATIVE TESTING APPROACHES

In addition, Air-Tech responds to unique situations that call for the characterization of emissions for which reference sampling methodologies do not exist.  By using past experiences, methods have been modified to create sampling and analytical approaches that are technically sound and acceptable by regulatory agencies.  Examples include:

  • the use of tracer gas for measuring low flow rates in process exhaust;
  • Method 18 performance-based modifications for sampling in high moisture gas streams; and
  • adaptations of NIOSH methodologies for source emission measurements.

EQUIPMENT

Air-Tech maintains an inventory of state-of-the-art equipment that is all less than five years old and includes such items as:

  • manual methods sampling trains for all US EPA methods;
  • continuous emission monitoring systems with proprietary software for real time on-site data reduction;
  • gas chromatographs equipped with multiple detectors for Method 18 projects;
  • three-dimensional (3D) pitot tubes for velocity measurements by Method 2F;
  • a NIST traceable dry well thermocouple calibrator;
  • mobile laboratories;
  • air/water-cooled sampling probes; and
  • digital micro-manometers for measuring low gas stream velocities.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Air-Tech also offers services in the following areas:

  • Emissions testing using all US EPA test methods;
  • Testing following the protocol of other test methods such as those provided by NIOSH, OSHA, ASTM, NCASI and CARB;
  • Third-part audits of on-site testing;
  • Expert witness testimony;
  • Preparation/review of test plans/quality assurance project plans; and
  • Consultation.
